Laguna Beach Homes used for Vacation Rentals will be Taxed

The City of Laguna Beach will now be enforcing a tax that had been on the books but not enforced previously.  A 10% tax will have to be paid on all bookings beginning July 1, 2010.  This tax will not affect those that are annual leases, but the short term leases.  Typically this tax is paid by tourists staying in hotels.

Here is another way of looking at it.  Instead of coming to Laguna Beach every year and renting a place for a few weeks, why not buy a Laguna Beach cottage priced reasonably well?  You can rent it out for 6 months of the year when you aren’t in town.  Of course we know the market will be appreciating again so that’s just an added bonus for your investment.

Let me know if you want me to send you some of my favorite Laguna Beach oceanview homes or Laguna Beach oceanfront homes with motivated sellers!
